I’m excited to share some of my personal favorite hikes to see wildflowers and breathtaking views this spring and summer. 1. John Rock Trail – Pisgah National Forest, NC
- Distance: 5.0 miles (loop)
- Estimated Hiking Time: 3 hours
- Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
- Highlights: Forested trails, cascading streams, and expansive views from the summit. This trail offers the perfect combination of forested serenity and stunning mountaintop vistas. I love how the views unfold as you make your way to the top, and the wildflowers here in late spring are a true highlight.

2. Hanging Rock Trail – Hanging Rock State Park, NC

It’s one of those trails that reminds me that even the shortest journeys can offer the most beautiful rewards. Plus, the wildflower display here in spring never fails to bring a smile to my face.

3. Shortoff Mountain Trail – Linville Gorge, NC

The climb is rewarding, and when you reach the summit, the expansive views of the gorge are absolutely worth every step. Plus, the spring blooms along the way are a beautiful reminder of the vibrancy of nature.

The sight of thousands of daffodils in bloom is pure magic and makes every step feel like an adventure. 5. Roan Highlands – Appalachian Trail, NC/TN
- Distance: 4.7 miles (Carvers Gap to Grassy Ridge Bald)

- Highlights: Alpine meadows, wildflower-covered fields, and 360-degree summit views. Roan Highlands is a special place that fills me with awe every time I visit.
